Flushing It Out with Samantha Spittle: Episode 1 – Rebecca Burtram: You are enough!
This was a Comedy Podcast hosted by Samantha Spittle who is a family friend of mine. This was her first podcast she posted and I stayed engaged the entire time with her funny stories and life lessons that come out of them. I listened to this podcast on my phone with headphones sitting at my desk. She has an easy to navigate website with all her podcasts summarized and organized. Her podcast started out with an intro of her podcast which I quickly recognized the voice as her husband, Jeremy. I thought this was a nice touch as to show how her podcast is personalized and grounded. Following this intro was a pleasant jingle leading to the start of her podcast. Over the course of her first podcast she covered embarrassing moments, spirituality, and life lessons. The format was more of a chat between friends with following 3 easy steps of life. A special guest, Rebecca Burtram was chatting with her the entire episode and brought very helpful stories and comments to the podcast. There were few transitions the majority in the beginning but the lack of transitions brought more to the podcast being transparent. This podcast made me see the real difference between radio and podcasts because radio feels quick and advertised and podcasts seem personal and relaxed
JRE #1425 – GARRETT REISMAN
This podcast is hosted by Joe Rogan who worked backstage for the UFC as an interviewer for after the fights. He now is a comedian and podcast host. There was a special guest, Garrett Reisman, a former NASA Astronaut. Rogan’s website had many options such as tour tickets, a shop, podcasts, and comedy specials. Overall, listening to the podcast it was very interesting to hear Rogan ask interesting questions to the guest that kept me engaged the entire time. I listened to this podcast in my room at my desk on my phone. I got access to this podcast on Youtube, and I actually got to watch them talk to each other as well as listen. This extra feature was nice because they showed actual pictures of Reisman in space which added immensely to the podcast. This podcast covered space stories and training from the special guest. The podcast was one recording with no editing transitions which I enjoyed because it felt like it was an unfiltered conversation between two guys sharing awesome and educational stories. Interestingly enough, I listened to these podcasts for a longer time than I am willing to watch any Youtube video or read an article.
This is Love By Criminal this specifically a story told by David Alexander and it was hosted by Phoebe Judge. This podcast was different from the other two I listened to because it was scripted and edited. It sounds like I am listening to an audiobook but has very nice music and cuts to reenactments of people acting the story he is telling out. The website is specifically podcast links and where to support the podcast and follow them on all the social media. The host was very good at asking the right questions to get the most out of the background of the story. The podcast was talking about a love story soley.
